<p class="Paragraph">You can enter several fonts separated by semicolons. In this case <help:productname>%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> uses each named font in succession if the previous fonts are not available.</p>

<p class="Paragraph">The change applies to the selected text or word in which the cursor is positioned. If no text has been selected, the font name applies to the text subsequently entered.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">The last five font names selected are shown in the top part of the combo box, if in <span class="T1">Tools - Options - <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> - View</span> you have marked the <span class="T1">Font history</span> field. As soon as you close your document, the normal alphabetic numbering of the installed fonts will be recreated.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">In <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> you will see the available fonts only if a printer is installed as the default printer in your system. <help:switch select="System" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="UNIX">With the <help:link Id="68269">spadmin</help:link> program you can define a printer as the default printer.</help:case><help:default>In order to install a printer as the default printer please refer to your operating system documentation.</help:default></help:switch></p>

<p class="Paragraph">If there is an error message, when you start <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname>, that states that certain fonts have not been found, you can still install them with Setup in the Repair mode if it is a <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> font. If you cannot or do not want to install a font, you can suppress the error message. Simply activate the check box <span class="T1">Deactivate message</span> of the dialogs; the message will not appear again.</p>
